About Dr. Trachtenberg

Dr. Lianne Trachtenberg is a licensed Clinical and Health Psychologist, registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Dr. Trachtenberg received her PhD in Clinical and Counselling Psychology from the University of Toronto. She provides evidence-based psychological treatment to adults living in Ontario, Canada who experience a range of mental health difficulties.

She is also passionate about health psychology — helping patients and families cope with medical and health issues.

How it Works

    Free Consultation

    When you first reach out to inquire about Dr. Trachtenberg's services, you'll be offered a free 15-minute telephone consultation. During this call, you will briefly get to know each other and discuss what you are looking for in a therapist.

    Assessment

    During the first appointment, Dr. Trachtenberg will complete an assessment to better understand your symptoms, unique needs, and goals for therapy. She will want to better understand what brings you to therapy and more about the history of any challenges.

    Individual Therapy

    Dr. Trachtenberg is passionate about providing evidence-based psychological treatment to her clients. She uses an integrative approach that primarily draws upon Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and incorporates third wave therapies including Schema Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

What is Health Psychology?

As a health psychologist, Dr. Trachtenberg is trained to provide evidence-based psychological treatment for patients and their loved ones coping with chronic and life-threatening illnesses. She is deeply aware of how stressful it can be to manage a medical condition at different stages of an illness trajectory; from the time of diagnosis, to decision making around treatment, to the aftermath of treatments and its subsequent physical and emotional sequala. Each stage comes with its own unique and challenging stressors. Dr. Trachtenberg support patients and their loved ones at each of these stages.
